Rioja country

I am constantly thrilled to see the changing landscapes each day and over each hill.  How could the world vary so much?  But it does.  As Navarre gives way to Castile the big ring of mountains surround an enormous wine region.

Tempanillo gives way to Rioja and every field is given over to vineyards. The snow capped mountains south of Logroño frame the bare vines, around which wild oil seed rape grows freely and Apple blossom lends flakes of white blossom to the vista. It’s an artist’s paradise…
