The mighty Loire

It’s the mightiest river in France and flows through a valley of chateaux after chateaux.  At Angers it meets the river Maine and they come together in an enormous sheet of water.

I got to stay on an island at the pilgrim hostel the diocesan house.  Very special.  The custodians met me, Charlotte had walked the Camino from Mont St Michel to Santiago in 73 days.  Stephanie was quick to provide refreshments – wine, bread, eggs and cheese. I’m the only pilgrim here…  Magical!
